The Mojito. Quintessentially Cuban, a good one is hard to beat. A refreshing blend of rum, sugar, lime and mint, this cocktail is perfect for a hot summer’s afternoon, served in a tall glass (or pitcher if you have friends over or are feeling ambitious) with plenty of ice.
Mojito is a Cuban cocktail and so requires a Cuban rum. The methods of making rum vary so greatly between countries that the resulting spirit can taste entirely different. Havana Club (3 year aged) is the most common rum you will see used in Cuba at tourist locations and is a great rum for this recipe.
